Wildlife

Glastonbury lies at the heart of the Avalon Marshes – a unique wetland habitat which is easily accessible on foot, by bike or car. Wildlife highlights include booming Bitterns and Egrets on the nature reserve at Ham Wall, Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve and Westhay Moor which boasts one of the largest Starling Murmurations in Britain. The area also has a rich heritage with historical sites such as the Neolithic Sweet Track, Glastonbury Lake Village and Meare Fish House.
